Over 30 Years of Experience
Our Director and owner, Dawn Speciale had a life-long dream to create a loving environment where children can grow, laugh, and reach their highest potential. Dawn’s journey in the field of early childhood began as an assistant preschool teacher at the Creative Academy of Learning in 1980. Soon after, she enrolled in Pasadena City College with a focus on Early Childhood Development and was later promoted to Head Teacher in the preschool classroom.
In 1986, Dawn’s Family Home Day Care was established and her home was opened to enable her to provide a learning environment for children in her community. After 17 years, Dawn was ready to open her own center and in 2003, Hands on Fun Preschool and Infant center was established.

To provide children with a warm, loving and safe, home-like environment where they will have stimulating learning experiences.
We believe children learn best through hands-on experiences, as well as the Piagetian cognitive development approach. We feel that direct exploration and handling of objects are vital elements of early childhood education.
Our Mission
Hands on Fun Preschool and Infant Center ensures that a child’s individuals needs are met in the areas of social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative development. Children are provided with a well-balanced, comprehensive curriculum, that combines consistency with flexibility.
