Preschool Program
The classroom has a maximum capacity for 15 children with a 1:8 teacher to student ratio. We use a research-based curriculum and on-going coaching to continuously improve the overall quality of the preschool program. Small class sizes allow for extra attention for each child. The center provides 2 snacks and lunch to all children (lunch brought in by parents).
We offer a 3 1/2 hour session in the morning, and an extended program for the afternoon for those parents who are looking for full time care.
Weekly planned curriculums are tailored to children’s interests, special talents, individual styles and pace of learning. The program fosters self confidence and promotes hands-on learning. In addition, our curriculum is based on the “5 Selves of Each Child”.
- The Physical Self: Riding toys, throwing, catching, hitting and kicking balls, beanbag games, climbing, sliding, obstacle courses, creative movement through music, play dough, sensory tables, finger painting, ect.
- The Emotional Self: Helping children control impulses, promoting empathy for others, and verbalizing feelings.
- The Social Self: Helping children become aware of their role as an integral member of the group, taking turns, sharing and using their words.
- The Cognitive Self: Sorting, grouping, matching, classifying, quantifying, sequencing, ABCs, colors, numbers, opposites, ect.
- The Creative Self: Self-expression through materials such as paint, markers, crayons, pencils, and collage materials.
